CONTEMPORARY

The "Zen of Living" Collection is a body of work inspired by the quiet beauty of nature and the soulful Japanese philosophy of Ikigai—living with purpose, balance, and joy. Created from a blend of my original photographs taken on Salt Spring Island and in the Sea to Sky region, each piece weaves together multiple images—of ocean tides, arbutus trees, water reflections, and the stillness of the forest,  to form layered compositions that are both abstract and grounded in the real.

This collection invites a deep pause, offering viewers a gentle place to reflect, reconnect, and simply breathe. Drawing from the essence of Japanese aesthetics and honouring the healing power of nature, these pieces were made to soothe the spirit.  

"Wabi-Sabi" is a Japanese term used to celebrate the beauty in imperfection, a core idea in both Japanese design and these multi-layered artworks.
